I’m not a friend
to rely on
but I’ll show up—
sometimes.
I’m not a friend
who answers the phone—
it’s pretty rare.
I’m not a good friend,
by any stretch—
yet I’ll help you,
if I can.
Yeah okay so I’m a bad friend—
but fairly honest,
if that counts.

Not all of us learn the basic social graces…

or maybe just aren’t able to practice them

Guilty as charged. Although I’ve learned a few tricks to appear socially acceptable. But I have to run by fast before anybody notices what a rhinoceros I am.

you don’t like rules! so it must be hard to play by them

You’re right, I’m no fan of rules. Some I have to follow. The rest I ignore…….

In such a few lines, you wrote an epic poem. I can relate to this really well. Thank you for the amazing experience Catherin.

I’m neurodivergent, too. I only found the word a couple of months ago and said yes!
