This happened to me again recently, becoming time blind when I got engrossed in my writing. I started off to write a nonet, which is 9 lines, and then ended up writing 18 of them on the same topic…and I still had more to say. All that syllable counting was kinda hypnotic

This is why writing can feel so good and be so rewarding. We get in a ‘flow’ state. Unfortunately, we still have real-world responsibilities, including to ourselves. I’ll forget to eat even!

Does the Pomodoro Method work for you, Paula? The phrasing seems to imply that you’ve tried everything but nothing works : )
