Haiku and Senryu

Written for SenHai Saturday prompt #26 and based on the photo by Maximus Mazar on Unsplash

Haiku and Senryu are both 5/7/5 syllable forms, but whereas a haiku is about a season in nature, a senryu is more concerned with human nature and feelings.

snowdust for a lawn,
glowing cabin’s A-frame roof
echos mountain pines

*

yellow eyes, peaked hat
golden face, creamy moustache;
storybook person

*

warm eyes belie you,
cold-hearted lover, ice man;
ride my slopes no more
