Juxtapolumpy

After Lewis Carroll

Twas Junetime and the jackass
did jerk and jumble in the jade.
All jostly were the jackdaws,
  and the jigger-fleas outplayed.

“Beware the jaguar, o Josh!
the jaws that jut, the limbs that jump!
Beware the jackals too, and jilt
  the jauntiest juxtapolump.”

Josh took his jemmy in his hand
  but jaguar saw he none,
so jettyward he jaunted
  and jigged awhile for fun.

And as in jiggish pose he stood,
  the juxtapolump, in Mary Janes
came jonking down the jetty—
  all joyful as she came!

“Josh,” she cried, “O Josh, hallo!”
but Josh, whose nerves were jangled,
from the jetty jumped, was in jetsam dumped
and in his jig got tangled.

Now the juxtapolump had a Chinese junk
  a-jutting from the jetty
it was jury-rigged with jolly flags
  so joyful, and so pretty.

“Josh, a joyride! What do you think?”
  the juxtapolump demanded.
Could Joshie justify a jaunt?
  He’d finally got landed.

Advised to jilt, he jogged away
   jabbering like a jackass
The juxtapolump, who’d watched him jump
  was not too disappointed.
