By Anowar Sadak
A little refugee child beneath the sky,
With dreams too big for tears to dry,
A metal plate upon his knee,
A world that owes him dignity.
His eyes are quiet, deep, and wise,
With untold stories they disguise,
No words can tell what he has known,
No child should ever feel alone.
Where are the toys, the books, the bread?
Where are the dreams inside his head?
Why must some children learn to fight
For food, for shelter, for a light?
Childhood should be filled with play,
With hope that brightens every day,
With loving arms and gentle care,
And equal chances everywhere.
O world, look closely, cannot you see?
A child deserves to grow up free.
Not judged by poverty or pain,
But loved like sunshine after rain.
Let every hand reach out with love,
Let kindness fall like rain above,
For every child, both near and far,
Deserves to shine, a precious star.
One day, I hope, the world will see
That love is our humanity.
No child should beg, no dream should die,
Beneath the same wide, endless sky.
Every child deserves a chance to smile. Every child deserves a future.

Yes. So many are suffering in refugee camps around the world. Literally millions. It isn’t right
