Changing Table [a reblog]

For such a small thing,
she’s got the ferocity of a lemur,
struggling to see through the blinds
next to her changing table
as I wrestle with feces and patience.

And I know this will happen
again and again.
Her beautiful will—
something I both take pride in and fear,

fighting because I know what’s good for her
until the day I realize I don’t,
