I recently saw a post by Salie Davis/Sarah B Royal of asemic (meaning-free) poetry, and it made me wonder if this squiggle I did last year would count as a poem.
What do you think?
My current poeting mentor, Kit Kelen, does a lot of artwork along these lines…maybe that’s asemic poetry too?

Kit Kelen has since told me that asemic writing is not a thing…that there can be no writing without symbols and no symbols without meaning

Interesting. ‘not a thing’, yet there is someone claiming it is, even describing it. Does that make it ‘a thing’?
It reminds me of some poem I saw that was purely typed symbols or even parts of Kerouac’s writing that devolves into symbols rather than words.
At that website, it says an asemic poem could be in sound. Wouldn’t all poems in a language that we don’t understand still be called poetry?

What is a word, other than letters in specific order, or hieroglyph, or hierarchic drawing
with meaning for those who are open to understand the incomprehensible, including
