Episode 24

“Arretez-vous, in the name of the law!” agent Celeste commanded at the top of her lungs. 

Her husky voice, surprisingly powerful for someone so recently zombified, echoed around.

Pyjama-clad Jambeau startled and paused, match mid-strike. His face seemed to crumple. His shoulders sagged. The canned propellant fell, with a clunk.

Brandon De Bras, captive media mogul, could sense the energy shift in his favour. Quietly struggling to his feet, Brandon raised his roped hands, and in one swift motion had hooked them, rope and all, around Jambeau’s neck.

The pyjama-man first teetered, then fell, like a tree, in a sort of comical slow-motion.

Marguerite Bagué, journaliste extraordinaire, had just opened her mouth to congratulate little sister Celeste when a strident voice yelled “Cut!”

Swiftly Marg swivelled, but seeing no-one, narrowed her eyes accusingly at Celeste, who simply shrugged.

Brandon, however, now pointed up to a second-floor window, slightly ajar, from which both a megaphone and a telephoto lens could be seen emerging.
