Dancing with words

A renga collaboration:
Mimmalisa Trifilò and
Catherin J Pascal Dunk1

Sitting waiting for
an offering of language
another viewpoint

I’m sorry I made you wait.
A collaboration’s great.

It’s in waiting that
we discover the portal
to another world

We hurtle through the vortex;
chortle wildly, but with grace.

Dancing with the words
Quiver before the blank page
Running from the rage

It feels like it’s been an age
since I wrote with abandon.

Words, rivers of blood
Sweat beads, flowing from the heart
toward the expanse—

untrapped now, undammed the flood,
beating, meeting, not retreating—

Engulfed by the rush
Float, sink, swim, dive or submerge
Meld with those blue waves

of mystery and not just
depth but fullness, awareness

of the urgency
beyond this lounge room
As we head downstream

past the tipping point, return
outlawed, a cordoned doorlock
.
