Poeting just because

“Only connect!”

E.M. Forster, Howard’s End

Because there’s joy in the process.

In tippy-tapping,
thinking,
counting,
grappling.

Because time doesn’t pass and
there’s no body;
leaping in the flow
straight from bed.

Because
attention.
Adrenaline.
Play.

Because it’s easier
than a song,
quicker
than a book.
