Redacted

by my fabulous guest poet Lisa Ford

Oftentimes, at the end of the day,
I sit back and think about redacted.

Today, I focused on keeping my calm
contained so it didn’t morph into cynicism.

My days are governed, calendar-driven;
Microsoft and redacted own my nine-to-five.

I bounce between urgencies and mundanities;
I’d be a mess — frantic — if I was new to this.

Five weeks of work tossed in the bin
because someone redacted redacted.

I used to toe the line and fret, but these days
I just bring all of me to work and hope

that sharing and caring and being there
will help redacted redacted redacted.

Moire pattern: mainly black and some white lines
