mistflower

feathery mauve clusters
massed on leggy stems; a bee
droopy velvet cloth

Photo is by Catherin J Pascal Dunk and shows blue mistflower, Conoclinium coelestinum, growing at the Royal Botanic Garden (RBG) Sydney.
I began writing this work during a ginko (a traditional Japanese walk to inspire the composition of haiku) led by Eileen Chong for Red Room Poetry at the RBG for World Poetry Month, August 2024.
