Written by my mother, Lyn Dunk, in 20011
When Cathy was a baby, she was so very sweet!
We’d put her in a paper bag, to make her day complete.
We’re not surprised at the career she chose—
a dictionary always her favourite prose.
She’s had an interesting time so far, and always liked to travel.
The rest of her life will be just great, as it starts to unravel.
When Cathy & Campbell are married, in greatest Scottish style,
we wish them good luck and hope that they’ll be happy all the while.
- The poem was written for the occasion of my hen’s night; we are since divorced. Small edits by Catherin J Pascal Dunk 2024. Photo of Catherin J Pascal Dunk in paper bag from grocery store, aged about 6 months(?), taken by my parents. ↩︎
