Advice for the chair

After so many years,
therapy’s a game
I play quite well.

The first few sessions
can still be rough.
But then it’s baby shampoo

commercial time—
so no more tears.

If they lob a difficult
question, try this:

avoid eye contact,
stay silent.
Make them nervous.

Eventually they’ll
whip out the Spakfilla,
‘repair the therapeutic

relationship’, applaud
your growth and insights.

It’s like taking treats
from a tamed, talking tiger.
