The Matrix

Linked haiku inspired by Bernie Gourley (Tiger Riding for Beginners)

How do you know
when it’s time to unplug—and
how to make that happen?

When you love movement,
then periodically,
you need to play.

You need to dance wild,
a puppet with long strings—
be embodied.

An urge arises
to loose the tethers, undock—
can’t wait to get down.

But the cable’s taut:
pulling, bouncing you back
to a techno beat.

You’ve leeway to stretch,
but not freedom complete; all
tied to the machine.
